TigerDirect: $25 Off Creative Labs Gaming Headset – Now $24.99

TigerDirect: $25 Off Creative Labs Gaming Headset Now $24.99

Give a gift to the gamer in you (or your circle of friends or family) with the Creative Labs Fatal1ty Gaming Headset. It normally goes for $49.97 but, until the very last minute of November 17, you can use a coupon code to take $25 off that price.

  • Coupon code: DGR47980
  • Expires: 11:59 PM on November 17

It comes in black with some red detailing. The reviews on site are mostly positive with a few complaining about ear soreness when left on for a long time. This happens to me with even the most high-end cans, and the solution is easy:  take a break! We need to rest our ears every now and then—and a couple of hours without taking the headphones off is just too much for our little aural wonders to take.

These headphones come with plush velvet earpads, a detachable noise-cancelling mic, and a generous eight foot cord. Just writing about them makes me want to get my game on!

The Body Shop Canada: 30% Off Plus An Additional 20% Off For Members

The Body Shop Canada: 30% Off Plus An Additional 20% Off For Members

The Body Shop has a good deal on right now for Love Your Body members. You can get 30% off everything on their site, and if you are a member you can take an additional 20% off. Their fine print says you can combine the offers, but it doesn’t include  giftcards, charity items, prepackaged gifts, or the membership itself.

If you prefer to shop at one of their physical stores, then the 30% off is not available, but you can pick up a $5 shopping  “bag of joy” from that, and you can get 30% of everything that fits inside it, with the same exceptions as above.

If you’ve never tried their body butter, do yourself a huge favour and try it out. It’s heavenly on your skin and smells great too.  They have a new take on this old favourite of mine, with something called the “Body Butter Duo”, for $18 which combines a light cream with a heavier one for areas of your body like your elbows that usually require more intense hydration.

This sale is on from 16 – 20th of November, 2011.

Newegg: 48 Hour Sale

Newegg: 48 Hour Sale

Newegg has a 48 Hour Sale on right now with savings up to 65%. I just love perusing the sale items from electronics stores. I always discover so many things I just need.

Here’s a couple of the deals that especially caught my eye:

I have one of these headsets that I picked up about three years ago for around $60. It’s great for working out because you don’t have to worry about a pesky headphone wire.

This is wonderful for those times when you just need to have a clear conversation with your friend but you don’t need stereo.

These two items also come with free shipping.

GoDaddy: Best Offer Ever – 33 % Off

Posted by on November 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM

GoDaddy: Best Offer Ever 33 % Off

People are asking me all the time how to go about getting a domain and how much it costs, since I’ve had my own for years, and always talk about the sense of control and satisfaction it gives me. I’ll often point them in the direction of GoDaddy since it’s good at guiding people new to domain registration, as well as at consistently having low prices. Now, GoDaddy is offering 33% off, making this its biggest discount I’ve seen in a long while.

As an example, I could pick up “angelarocks.ca” for $13.22 per year, or “angelarocks.info” for a mere $2.03. Unfortunately, “angelarocks.com” is already taken, but I could get “angelarockson.com” for $12.20 per year.

This offer is:

Not applicable to ICANN fees, taxes, shipping and handling, sale priced domains and transfers, bulk domains and transfers, premium domains, Sunrise/Landrush domain registrations and pre-registrations, memberships or maintenance plans, additional disk space and bandwidth renewals, additional email addresses, additional AdSpace advertising funds, Managed Hosting, custom page layouts, brand identity services, Go Daddy branded merchandise or gift cards.

It looks like this offer expires Sunday, so don’t wait too long to take advantage of it.

NCIX: $100 Off Thecus NAS Box (Down to $129.99)

Posted by on November 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM

NCIX: $100 Off Thecus NAS Box (Down to $129.99)

NCIX has a great deal on a 2-bay NAS box, for $100 off the regular price of $229.99, until November 16, while quantities last.

  • Discount: $100 off
  • Coupon Code: 63974-1282
  • Expiry: 16th, November 2011

NAS stands for Network Attached Storage, and a NAS box lets you add hard drives to your network, usually in a RAID configuration—meaning you also have redundant copies of your data, so if one of the backup drives fails the other one will still preserve your information. With this powerful device you can duplicate all the data on all the computers on your home network, or create a media server so that your movies and music are stored in one central location.

Proper backup is like long underwear during a Canadian winter: it may not be sexy but it will sure save your butt when you need it to. NCIX: $100 Off Thecus NAS Box (Down to $129.99)

I own a similar NAS drive (that cost me almost $300 a year ago) and preach their benefits to all who will listen. This is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen for a 2-bay NAS box. If you don’t already have a backup strategy that’s working for you, pick up this inexpensive NAS and protect your precious data.

Beyond The Rack: Denby And Splendide Dinnerware 60-80% Off

Beyond The Rack: Denby And Splendide Dinnerware 60 80% Off

Having recently moved in with a roommate I have been looking for a second set of dishes for keeping stuff separate.  So, I was quite excited to see an offer from Beyond the Rack in my inbox this afternoon for gorgeous Denby and Splendide dinnerware, discounted as much as 80 percent off.

I could go down to Canadian Tire or Wal-Mart and get a cheap and basic set of dishes, but nothing as pretty and classic as what Beyond the Rack has, and not for prices this deeply discounted.

Some lovely examples:

These stoneware dishes are microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, while the cutlery is heavy gauge gleaming stainless steel.

Kari Whiteman, “Decorator to the Stars”, writes:

Denby and Splendide dinnerware combine elegant design, exceptional quality, and easy functionality. Feast your eyes on a tabletop collection that combines chic, contemporary styles and aesthetics with more traditional items, perfect for wedding gifts and year-round usage.

I don’t know a lot about dishes, but I know I like the look of these ones. I did a quick comparison with some Splendide cutlery on sale by The Bay ($45 for a 20 piece set) , and some Denby ware also on sale at The Bay ($25 for a single plate), so this looks like a fantastic price for quality kitchen ware.

MEC: 25% Off Continental Town And Country Bike Tires

Posted by on November 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM

MEC: 25% Off Continental Town And Country Bike Tires

I recently sold my car and moved to Vancouver where I’ve become a cycling fanatic. As any cyclist knows, having the appropriate tires for biking conditions is paramount. But Vancouver has a mix of paved paths and some of the best trail riding our country has to offer. Tires that roll easy on pavement, aren’t necessarily the best for off-roading, where you need more grip. Enter the Continental Town and Country to give you the best of both worlds in one tire.

I paid $50 for mine several years ago and now you can get them for $30 (Reg $40) from Mountain Equipment Co-op.

Here’s what one reviewer had to say about them:

I am extremely happy with this tire. On their website, Continental even boasts that Police bike units all across the globe use this tire. Strong, Durable and versatile. How could you go wrong with this all-around tire? I look forward to the thousands of kilometers this tire can roll to. (MEC does have the cheapest price)

I’ve personally ridden on these tires for almost 1000 kms, through mud, rain, a little ice, on long flats and steeps hills, and even through broken glass and they still look new and have never been punctured.

Shipping is free if you spend at least $50, so a pair of these tires won’t cost you anything to ship.

Beyond The Rack: Aldan Retro Duvet Cover $34.99 (Reg $99.99)

Posted by on November 1, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Beyond The Rack: Aldan Retro Duvet Cover $34.99 (Reg $99.99)

If you’re like me and have a tendency to feel a little blah as fall moves in, surrounding us with drab, bare trees and leaf-covered and browning grass, then perhaps a touch of spring colour to brighten the bed where you will soon want to hibernate is in order. Beyond The Rack is offering an Aldan Retro Duvet Cover for only $34.99 right now.

It is in the “Luxury Down Comforters and more” section! And don’t forget that new customers can get a free $10 credit in their account, read this Beyond The Rack post to find out more about that. This effectively makes the duvet only $24.99!

I did a little checking around with competitors carrying this item. Beyond The Rack beats their price on it by more than 50%.

There’s one other thing I really like about this duvet cover: it’s split down the middle into two different colours, clearly marking the fair share of the bed for those of us dealing with a partner who hogs the blankets.

This deal is on until 2nd November 2011.

Sears Canada: 40% Off Duck And Goose Down blend Duvet

I love natural-filled bedding, being one of the lucky ones without down allergies. Nothing beats nature’s own well-designed defence against the cold. Until November 13, you can get a toasty warm down-filled duvet for $191.99 (40% off) from Sears Canada.

This price is for the queen size. The king size is $215.99. Unfortunately, the twin size is not in stock.

Pair this with one of the duvet covers on sale at Beyond The Rack, and you’ll be one happy hibernator this winter!
