Well, yesterday was the first day of fall, and that means it'll soon be time to break out the Christmas decorations. It might be a little early to start trimming the tree, but this is the perfect time to get a head start on shopping for advent calendars ... especially when some of them are on sale!
I was just doing a little comparison shopping, and I think I tracked down the Melissa & Doug Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar for the lowest price anywhere in Canada. Best Buy has it for $16.99!
This has been one of my favourite kids' advent calendars for years, because it's something you can reuse every Christmas season – and you don't end up with a bunch of cheap toys once the holidays are over.
Instead, this calendar is a magnetic wooden tree that your kids can use to count down the number of sleeps left until Santa comes. It includes 24 magnetic wooden ornaments: one for every day in December before Christmas. There's even an attached wooden box, where you can store ornaments before you "hang" them, as well as a shining star that you can add to the top of the tree on the big day itself.
Best Buy usually sells this calendar for $24.99, but until Sept. 26, it's $5 off! In fact, most Melissa & Doug items they stock are on sale, including the Wooden Responsibility Chart, which you can pick up for $14.99. Shipping is free when you spend at least $35 – and remember, these deals only run for a few more days!
And while there are a couple listings for this calendar on Amazon, this one does also have it for $16.99. But if you're looking for other Melissa & Doug toys and games at the same time, you'll have better luck at Best Buy Canada – or at Chapters Indigo, where select toys and play structures are 20% off all week.
