Dell Canada: Free Upgrades Desktop & Laptop Sale

Dell Canada has a sale that greatly interests me. Right now they are offering free upgrades for the same price (and sometimes lower) than the base computer. These upgrades are free and fantastic if you like faster processors, better graphics cards, and touch screens without paying extra for them.

This kind of sale is cool. Many of these upgrades would cost substantially more (a couple hundred dollars). Now, the sale is laid out so that the first product in the pair is the normal product and the second product is the same item with a free upgrade. The price is either the same or cheaper.

My first example is their first deal! The Inspiron 15 5000 Series Non-Touch usually retails for $729.99. Instead of that base mode, purchase the Inspiron 15 5000 Series Touch that was $888.99 and is now $699.99. The only difference between the two models is the free upgrade: a touch screen. With this deal, you also save an extra $30. Your laptop comes with an i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive.

In the sale, I also found a great deal on a desktop. This Inspiron Desktop retails for $669.99. It comes with an i5 processor, 8 GB of memory, and a 1TB hard drive. Purchase the upgraded Inspiron Desktopwith 12GB of memory (instead of 8GB) for faster processing. This desktop still just costs $669.99.

The Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop truly has it all. At $949.99, it is a convertible laptop that switches between tablet and laptop mode: see image above. For truly mesmerizing speed, purchase the upgraded Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 laptop with an i7 processor (instead of i5) for $949.99. This upgrade is valued at $139 and will be well worth your money. Once you have worked on an i7 processor, it is very hard to go back to a regular processor.

There are several Alienware models included the sale as well. I am a big fan of Alienware, but it is really only necessary for gamers who play demanding games that require speed and amazing graphics. Tetris does not count. These other deals give you nice bonus features like memory, speed, and more for the same price as the base models.

With the Dell Advantage program, Dell customers receive 5% back on purchases of $100 or more. This takes the form of a Dell ePromotional card. You can then use the code on this card against your next purchase. All items ship free from Dell.
