  • Coupon Code: MOOSE5
  • Discount: $5 off $20
  • Expiry: 30th November 2014

You have until the end of the month to use this hot coupon and stock your shelves. I’ve shopped previously at Book Outlet and my books came quickly and in great shape. With Christmas coming up, books are one of the best gifts you can give. My oldest son is a reader like me, and I know he’d much rather see books under the tree than toys, and he reads so quickly that I can’t keep up. I’m going to stock his shelves with this great deal and hope it lasts him at least a few days of reading.

For my boys I found some great books like 2nd Grade Writing Star Wars Workbook, which might even give them incentive to do their homework (was $8.95, now $4.49). My son likes Geronimo Stilton so Dinosaurs in Action would be a good one to pick up for him as well. It is now $3.99 and was $9.99 in hardcover.

There is also the 50 books for 50% off section, and right now these look like some serious titles that my husband might love to read in the history genre. There are a lot of war and military titles in here like Thank You For Your Service (now $3.99, was $26), The New York Times Complete World War II (was $40, now $9.99) and The Hour of Peril: The Secret Plot to Murder Lincoln Before the Civil War (was $26.99, now $1.99).

If I picked up all of these books, my sale total would be $24.45. I’d then add the coupon code and pay only $19.45, saving myself a total of about $92 from the regular prices!

Shipping is the tricky part, where you’ll pay $3.99 for the order, plus $0.75 for each item. So, for the five books above, I’ll pay $7.74, which is mere pennies when you consider what you’re saving anyway.

Look for more Book Outlet coupon codes in the forum.

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Books are awesome but do you have some laying around that you know you will never read, need, nor will you even casually browse? Then turn them into something more fun. Below you will find a couple of unique ways to upcycle books and the best part is that you could even use your favourite books to add a more unique touch.

1.Book Page Wreath

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Instead of buying a wreath for Christmas, make your own with old books… or new ones, whatever tickles your fancy! I found this idea from Knick of Time but be prepared for loads of folding but if you have have a lot of spare books, time and maybe even helping hands, then you could easily make one in no time. The amount of pages you need will depend on the books you use but to make it friendlier on your budget, you could try checking out your local second hand bookstore for cheap books.

2. Hollowed Book Box

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

I’m sure many of you Moosers have seen the ingenious idea of turning a book into a box but if such a task has seemed too daunting to endeavor, then I found out a super easy guide from Heather Rivers. I’m not the craftiest person ever, so anything with a lot of instructions and pictures is perfect for me. In fact, the instructions actually feature a total of 80 steps accompanied by pictures and detailed text, so you certainly can’t go wrong!

 3. Wall Organizers

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Avid book lovers are sure to love this little organizing trick. Simply wrap pages of an old book around a tin can and voila, unique vessels for holding you want from kitchen accessories, to pens and pencils, hair clips or anything else in need of a bit of organizing. They can even serve as great flower vases as long as you place a glass of water inside. The only tools you need are: 1 tin can (or several depending on how many you want to make), pages from a book, a paint brush, scissors and white glue mixed with a bit of water. For detailed instructions, be sure to check out Knick of Time.

4. Book Page Bottles

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Reading a book goes hand in hand with enjoying a nice glass of wine, doesn’t it? This particularly rings true once you have kids, as evidenced by the countless memes on this particular subject, but you might as well make use of your many empty bottles and books that you will never read again. Simply use a stencil to cut out the shape of a flower from pages of a book and then glue them onto a bottle painted white. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Admittedly, a flower might be slightly challenging but you could always do hearts or stars! This creative idea is brought to you by The Wicker House.

5. Coat Rack

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Although this one may be best saved for a lazy Sunday afternoon, grab a couple of hooks, a piece of plywood and a couple of other supplies detailed at Turtles and Tails and make yourself an original looking boot coat rack. Personally, I would make all of the books of equal height but it’s up to you to customize your coat rack as you like!

6. Curled Paper Strip Ornaments

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

While you can certainly curl and use music sheets to fill glass ornaments, you could also use excerpts from your favourite book(s). Just make sure to curl them appropriately! Featured on By Stephanie Lynn, these are super easy to make and could easily be gifted for Christmas. All you need are a couple of clear glass ornaments, strips of paper, ribbon and twine for hanging. Go a step further by placing them in a large hollowed book! 7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

7. Book Monogram

7 Ways To Upcycle Old Books

Last but not least on the list is book monogramming. This one is for all of you up for a bit of a challenge as a band saw is needed. Ashbee Design clearly outlines how to use Mac’s Pages to create the monogram but if you’re not too computer savvy, you could always draw your letter onto a sheet of paper with a ruler. I absolutely love this idea, especially as a decorative prop for a nursery or even as a centrepiece for any living room coffee table.

Book Outlet Canada Promo Code: $5 Off $35

If you like discount books and you like getting discounts on discount books, do I have the coupon for you! Get $5 off your $35 order at Book Outlet with promo code.

Click here to shop @ Bookoutlet.com now

  • Coupon Code: BookOutlet5off
  • Discount: $5 off $35
  • Expiry: 1st November 2014

What I love about Book Outlet is that they have such great deals on books and then when you can take another $5 off, you can seriously get a few of the books free because they are so cheap to begin with. I am the person who goes to the library’s used book sales and have to take a stroller (without a kid) because I get so many books. I look like a crazy book person, but even a crazy book person is better than not being a reader at all. I’ve taught my oldest to love books as much as I do and he is also crazy book kid – you know the one who reads walking down the street. His teacher even told me that his reading distracts him so much from what they are doing in class or with socializing they had to tell him to literally put the book down. I think this is a good problem to have!

They always have their 50 books for 50% off sale, and this week it doesn’t look like there is a theme. There are books with prices as low as $1.49, which means for $35 ($30 after the discount, you could get over 20 books!).

If you haven’t read Before I Go To Sleep, I’ve heard you should not read it before you go to sleep. I wanted to pick this one up recently, but I’m glad I waited as it is only $4.99 in softcover right now! If you buy enough other books, you’ll basically get this one free. Compare this at Chapters Indigo, where it sells for $13.

Shipping is $3.99 for your first two books and then every book after that is an additional $0.50. Check out the Book Outlet coupon page for more details on this coupon and more.

Book Depository (UK): Free Shipping No Minimum & Foreign Release Books

Posted by on October 30, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Book Depository (UK): Free Shipping No Minimum & Foreign Release Books

Book Depository (UK) offers free shipping on any order with no minimum to Canada. For book lovers, this is a favourite website for finding older titles and new releases.

You can select Canadian currency at the top right so there is no confusion with currency conversion. Now, free shipping on any book order alone is fantastic. Books are heavy and Canada post most certainly does not deliver them to your door for free so Book Depository foots the bill.

Now, the second part of this ‘deal’ that should tickle any book-lovers fancy is access to foreign books not yet released in the USA or Canada. What we have access to on Chapters Indigo or Amazon.ca are books that have been released in North America. However, our release dates can be several years after the books have been released in other countries – like the UK.

The #1 best-selling book on Book Depository right now is The Sleeper and the Spindle (Hardback) by Neil Gaiman. It just was released by Bloomsbury in the UK but will not be released in the USA or Canada until late summer or early fall 2015. Rather than wait almost an entire year for a new book by one of our favourite authors, many Canadians (including me) have bought the book from Book Depository. The Sleeper and the Spindle is currently 27% off. If you are a Gaiman fan or a Chris Riddell fan (fantastic illustrations), then pick up the book for $16.95 (was $23.49). Sure, it is considered a children’s book, but Gaiman’s creations rarely disappoint adult readers.

Even if you could buy the book at Amazon or Chapters (which you cannot) you would never receive free shipping on a book for that price as both our companies have a $25 minimum.

This comes down to two important points:

  1. Free shipping on any book order – no matter how many/few or how expensive/cheap
  2. Access to books that our ‘usual’ book stores do not have access to

You may not even know that some of these books exist unless you follow your favourite authors. When I first found out about The Sleeper book, it was through Neil Gaiman’s twitter. The book is was not even showing up on Amazon or Chapters Indigo a week ago when I ordered as the North American release date was so far away.

As per usual, price compare any books if they are currently available in your normal book stores.

Book Outlet Canada: Get 15% Off Unique Coupon Codes

Book Outlet Canada: Get 15% Off Unique Coupon Codes

Claim your very own unique coupon code for 15% off at Book Outlet Canada. Just fill out your name and email address through the link below to receive your unique promo code.

I requested my coupon and it arrived immediately. Each code is unique so I cannot just do it one time and then supply the coupon to all of you. I was pleased that the code arrived so fast. I forwarded it on to my husband as I really shouldn’t be purchasing anymore books. The picture above is of the books I just purchased this weekend from a local used book sale.

My husband is currently reading through a legendary series – Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. He is on book four and has up to book six in the series. These are mammoth books to read and I am surprised how quickly he is going through them. I might use the coupon code on a couple more books in the series for him. I found The Path of Daggers (Wheel of Time, Bk. 8) in scratch and dent for $3.99. After coupon, it comes down to $3.32. I could also buy him A Crown of Swords (Wheel of Time, Bk. 7) for $5.09 after coupon (was $5.99). Then he would have the next two books in the series.

As you can see from above, my Terry Pratchett obsession continues. If you want to jump on the Pratchett bandwagon, I suggest picking up a copy of Reaper Man for just $3.32 after coupon (was $3.99) and Snuff. Snuff is a new one for me but it sounds fantastic! Sort of like a murder mystery set on Discworld, which is right up my alley. The hardcover of Snuff is $6.99 and comes down to $5.94 after coupon.

I was actually pretty shocked to see Gaiman’s The Ocean at the End of the Lane and Chu’s Day on Book Outlet. Both of these books are still incredibly popular. Chu’s Day is really great fir kids going to school for the first time whereas The Ocean is best for adults. I want both. Ocean in hardcover will cost me $6.79 (was $7.99) and Chu in hardcover will cost $5.94 (was $6.99).

Shipping is just $3.99 and $0.75 cents per item. That is reasonable when you consider how heavy books are and how much shipping has gone up. I shipped just a shirt to Saskatchewan yesterday and it cost me $12!

Book Outlet Canada: 50% Off Halloween Books

Posted by on October 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM

Book Outlet Canada: 50% Off Halloween Books

Halloween is three weeks from tonight and I know my family is getting in the “mood”. I bought two of my sons their costumes last night and they haven’t taken them off. I actually have had to hide them so pieces don’t go missing before they get to wear them trick or treating. I’ve learned from experience. To get them even more in the mood, I’m totally going to get some books from the 50/50 sale that Book Outlet is having right now with 50% off Halloween books.

My middle son actually has quite the obsession with Halloween and I found it comical when he started getting library privileges at school and every week he brought home a Halloween-themed book, even at Christmas! I guess he just likes spooky stuff. The kid has no fear. I’m going to use this sale to build up his collection of scary reads.

There are so many books under $3, it is hard for me not to go wild and buy them all. I just might. I’m that person who comes out of the library unable to hold the door open with my stockpile of books. At these prices, I don’t need to pay late fees because I can put them on my own shelves.

Some of the fun books I found during this sale included:

One Spooky Night - was $11.99, now $1.99

Usborne monsters colouring book – was $7.95, now $1.99

The Monster Diaries - was $6.95, now $1.49

Totally lame vampire – was $12.99, now $2.49

The Morgaville vampires – was $9.99, now $1.99

As you can see, there is something for every age group as well, even adults. I know lots of people are huge fans of vampires, so this collection of books might have something new to get you loving.

I couldn’t help myself, not only did I get my kids some Halloween books, I had to check out the 25% off cookbooks that were on sale right now too.

Shipping is $4.74 for the first book and $0.75 for every book thereafter.

Lonely Planet Canada Promo Code: BOGO Free On All Kid’s Books

Posted by on October 2, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Lonely Planet Canada Promo Code: BOGO Free On All Kids Books

Lonely Planet has just opened a new section on their site, just for kids and they’ve got a promo code to go with it. Get one kid’s book and get the second free with coupon.

Click here to shop @ Lonelyplanet.com now

  • Coupon Code: 241KIDS
  • Discount: Buy one, get one free
  • Expiry: 31st October 2014

You might wonder why your kids need travel guides. Well, they don’t. Lonely Planet Kids is much more than that. They have books that will foster your kid’s love of the world. There are also fun apps and games to play on their site. I don’t know about you, but I love it when my kids play games that teach them something and learning about our Earth is so important if we want kids who will respect and love it. I love to travel and although my kids have barely been out of our province, I want to foster the love of travel in them too. Life is too short not to see as many places as you can and experience something new every day!

Sticker books are something that all of my boys love, no matter their age. This Adventures in Cold Places sticker book is great for a long drive (or flight!), giving your kids 48 pages worth of stuff to do. Don’t forget the siblings who will want their own books, like this Adventures in Wild Places sticker book. Both books sell for $9.99 U.S., but add both to your cart, along with the promo code and you’ll see your total at $9.99.

If stickers aren’t what you are looking for, check out the Amazing World Atlas that is filled with maps, history and facts. I know my oldest son would read this book from cover to cover. It goes for $20, but get another for a niece or nephew to capitalize on the savings and their book will be free, saving you the $20 you would have spent on their gift.

Shipping is free when you spend over $40 and because they ship from the U.S., you might be wary of duties or fees. Always look to the Lonely Planet coupon page for coupons before you shop.

Chapters Indigo Canada: Buy a Fitbit Flex & Get The Body Reset Diet Free

Posted by on September 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM

Chapters Indigo Canada: Buy a Fitbit Flex & Get The Body Reset Diet Free

This week at Chapters Indigo if you buy a Fitbit Flex, you’ll get Harley Pasternak’s The Body Reset Diet: Power Your Metabolism, Blast Fat & Shed Pounds in Just 15 Days free!

Sometimes when you see gift with purchase deals, they sound like a great deal, but either the regular price is inflated or sells for more than other stores. It is sort of just a lure because people love to get free stuff. In the case of this deal, there is no lure, this is a great deal.

First of all, the Fitbit Flex sells for $99.95 at Chapters Indigo. This is what it sells for everywhere else. I didn’t see it on sale at one store. Second, the book at regular price is $24, but on sale for $17.33. No matter what the price of the book, you are getting it free while paying the price for the Fitbit that you’d pay anywhere. If you were considering a Fitbit, now might be the time.

I’ve really heard great things about this book and I actually really want to get it. I just feel like my body needs a reset. I am not one for fad diets, but they say that doing something over and over again makes it a habit so I could see resetting my body and staying on a maintenance type plan being a lifestyle for me once I’ve forced myself to do it for the 15 days.

As for the Fitbit, I’d love one of these too. With my birthday coming up, this would make a fabulous gift for me (hint, hint). I have just started working out again and trying to eat clean every single day. I also walk my kids to and from school each day, which is actually quite a trek when you are doing it four times over (1.25 km each way), and I’d love to see what the results of how much I actually do in a day will amount to. Never mind being a mom of three who really never stops!

It has some great reviews and this one looks very honest:

I am really enjoying my fitbit flex. I had seen it other reviews it was difficult to set up, so I was somewhat nervous about that part.  As completely un-techy as I am I found the set up quite simple.  You just have to remember to recharge every ~ 5 days or the count will be off.  Had I heard about it before, I probably would have bought the fitbit force instead: it counts stairs climbed as well.  Overall, great product and it syncs easily with many other fitness apps.  May give you that extra push you need to stay active.

Chapters Indigo offers free shipping when you spend over $25, which you are undoubtedly doing here, so you’ll get that little perk with this offer.

Book Outlet Canada: Beyond The Bargain Section

Posted by on September 19, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Book Outlet Canada: Beyond The Bargain Section

For all our book loving Moosers out there, Book Outlet has a new section called “Beyond the Bargain” that rotates books every Friday at 7:00 AM EST. This section is a compilation of extreme deals for book lovers with most all books in the section 75% off or more.

The books in this section are so cheap it is almost a crime. I instantly ran across one I wanted. The Lazy Environmentalist on a Budget: Save Money. Save Time. Save the Planet. sounds like just my kind of read. Face it: going green is pretty expensive so learning how to do so on a budget sounds like a book I want. Part of the description says:

From raising eco-conscious kids to greening your daily commute, Dorfman provides insights into the next wave of green innovation and the products and services that will lighten your planetary impact and lower your expenses.

I am sold. The book originally retailed for $16.99 and is now on sale for $2.99. The Beyond Bargain price is just $1.49.

Another book along the same line is titled Super Natural Home: Improve Your Health, Home, and Planet–One Room at a Time. Originally $15.95, the book is now $5.99. Beyond Bargain pricing brings this book down to $2.99. Here is a sweet little synopsis of what you can expect:

At a time when impeccable scientific research points to an alarming correlation between common chemical compounds and cancers, allergies, psychiatric disorders, and birth defects, among other serious health concerns, Super Natural Home gives consumers the tools to start protecting themselves and their families.

Sounds like a must read for any family. There is a catch to all this. The fine print says:

Get the Beyond Bargain Price by having $30.00 or more of non-”Beyond Bargain” items in your shopping cart.

So, unfortunately, you cannot just load your cart up with these deals and scoot. However, if you are placing a book order this is a section you will not want to miss. I want both of those books and I only made it onto page two of the four pages of books available in this section. You can load up on books from the 50/50 section or the scratch and dent sections to reach the $30 minimum as books in those two are always priced super low.

Shipping is $3.99 for the first item, and then an additional $0.75 per item. Be sure to check out the coupon forum for future coupon codes like this one.

Chapters Indigo Canada: 30% Off Marvels Origins Titles

Posted by on September 8, 2014 at 9:00 PM

Chapters Indigo Canada: 30% Off Marvels Origins TitlesCurious to find out how the tales of Wolverine, Thor, X-Men and a couple of others started out? Chapters Indigo is offering a 30% discount on select Marvel Origins books right now, but only during the next couple of days.

In recent years, Marvel has been on the roll with the making and re-making of movies depicting the epic stories of Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Anvengers and all of others, but if you never read these comics or want to read their backstories anyways, then these deals are definitely well worth it, especially since Amazon, for instance, is currently selling all of these at their full price.

  • Wolverine – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • Thor – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • Marvel The X-Men – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • Iron Man – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • Spider-Man – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • The Avengers – An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Beginnings: reg. $13.99/ now $10.44
  • Captain America – An Origin Story: An Origin Story: reg. $9.99/ now $6.64

If you were to add all of these titles to your shopping cart, the subtotal would come up to just $56.92, which is pretty good considering it would have otherwise cost you $83.92, which is actually more than just a 30% discount as it comes up to 32%! Chapters Indigo Canada: 30% Off Marvels Origins Titles

All of these titles are in hardcover format and feature 48 pages of pure awesomeness. Personally, I am definitely tempted to buy all of these Marvel Origins titles at once, not only to read and enjoy, but also because they would look great on my bookshelf as they are all in the same format. Plus, it would also fit right in with the Marvel Famous First: 75th Anniversary Masterworks Slipcase set that is currently on sale for $237.50 (reg. $500). You can read more about it in Avigayil’s recent post.

Another advantage of getting them all in one order is that your order will also then qualify for free shipping as Chapters automatically ships all orders totalling over $25 for free.

Having recently watched and loved the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I am particularly excited to the Guardians of the Galaxy: Beginnings book, especially since the description of the book is particularly intriguing: “how did a raccoon with a rocket launcher, a talking tree, a bald green destroyer, the most dangerous woman in the universe, and an interplanetary policeman form the heroic space squad, The Guardians of the Galaxy?”

Lonely Planet Canada Promo Code: B1G1 On All City Guides

Posted by on September 3, 2014 at 2:30 PM

Lonely Planet Canada Promo Code: B1G1 On All City Guides

Ring, ring, London’s calling (or plenty of other top cities Lonely Planet Canada Promo Code: B1G1 On All City Guides )! If you’re planning on travelling and need a city guide, then check out Lonely Planet because until the end of the week, you can take advantage of a “buy one, get one free” deal on all city guide. Just add two books to your cart, apply the promo code below and voila, the price on the second book will be strike-through and the word “free” will appear instead.

Buy one city guide, get one free @ LonelyPlanet.com now

  • Coupon Code: FREECITY
  • Discount: BOGO offer on all city guides
  • Expiry: 5th September 2014

I tried the Lonely Planet promo code above on country guide but alas, it truly is only on city guides. Lonely Planet’s site can be a little confusing to navigate, but if you click the link above, then you will see a list of all of the city guides eligible for this promotion. Although all prices on Lonely Planet’s site are in USD, shipping is nevertheless free on orders over $40 to Canada. There are over 80 city guides to choose from and they are all for top cities like Moscow, Vienna, Paris, Seoul, etc. Even a couple of American cities have made it on the list like: Boston, Seattle and Chicago.

London has been one of the cities that I have always wanted to visit but I wouldn’t even know where to start. Searching the net for places to visit and things to go is great and all but the overflow of information can oftentimes be confusing and sometimes, it’s nicer to just read a book or a city guide in this case.

If you’re looking to learn about plenty of cities or if you plan on travelling to several ones in one trip but don’t want to carry that many city guides with you, then you can also take advantage of the BOGO offer on digital versions of these city guides. In fact, the promotion will still work even if you add an actual book alongside an eBook to your cart or even if you choose the bundle option, which is a guide for any given city in both a print and digital format. The bundled price is cheaper than if you were to get these separately. For instance, the Bangkok city guide in print form is $21.99, in digital form is $15.39 and as a bundle is $28.59. These are also the average prices that you can expect to see on almost all of the city guides.

At this price, you are paying only 12.7 cents a page excluding the signed poster, the beautiful hardcover volumes, and the matching slipcover that houses all these books. Some people would pay over $200 just for Stan Lee’s signature!

This makes a great gift for yourself or for someone you love. Consider it the ultimate Christmas gift for your comic loving family member. While Christmas may not be for a few months, I like to plan ahead and buy gifts early for the best deals. Surprisingly, this box set still qualifies for free shipping despite its enormous size and weight.

I am both very excited and a little annoyed at this coupon code. I am very excited because I have a list of books to buy the length of my arm that I am now delighted to pick up with this fantastic offer from Chapters Indigo. I am annoyed because this coupon came in August when I have already spent my monthly budget instead of September. I was hoping on holding off until September for my book order.

Most the books I am ordering are pre-orders anyway, so there was not a rush. I am super excited about the release of Neil Gaiman’s The Last Temptation 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Hardcover scheduled for the 11th of November. The edition I just linked to is the signed by Neil Gaiman edition that I will be purchasing. This book holds a very special place in my heart as it was the first graphic novel I ever read, and I first read it twelve years ago. It features one of my favourite showmen, the legendary Alice Cooper, and the original holds a prominent place in my collection. This signed collection costs $52.10 without the plum discount, but after coupon code, it comes down to $46.89.

I have so many books on my wishlist that I must set a budget: a maximum amount I can spend during this promotion. The book above is an absolute must and there are several other books on my wishlist that are crying out to be purchased. I own volumes one to six, so Asterix Omnibus 7 for $13.67 after coupon (originally $15.19 without Plum), is a priority. I do find the books a bit repetitious after a while, unfortunately, so I often wonder if I am going to finish the series. Ever have a problem like that with a series you are collecting?

Receive free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

Harlequin Canada Coupon Code: BOGO Today Only!

Harlequin Canada Coupon Code: BOGO Today Only!

Here’s a steamy offer for all of you Harlequin lovers: use the code below to take advantage of a “buy one, get one free” deal on everything site wide! The only hitch is that this deal expires at the end of the day, so hurry to redeem the code while you still can.

Buy one, get one free @ Harlequin.com now

  • Coupon Code: BG822NB
  • Discount: BOGO
  • Expiry: 22nd August 2014

This offer couldn’t have come in at a better time than TGIF and the best part is that if you don’t want to wait for your books to arrive in the mail, then this code may also be used on eBooks. However, make sure you add everything you want to your cart in a single order because there are no do-overs if you forget one, as this code may only be used once per customer!

Not sure where to start? Shopping by category is very helpful as you can find novels centred around fantasy, classic romance, chick lit, passion or even erotic fiction. In fact, for those of you looking to spice things up in the bedroom, that last category could definitely be a great way to get some new ideas! Harlequin Canada Coupon Code: BOGO Today Only!

Although it looks like it has been temporarily closed because of a scandal, you can also check out Harlequin’s Chatsfield for a series shrouded in mystery, romance and never-ending rumours. Written by Melanie Milburne, the first one in the series is “Engaged at The Chatsfield” and is available in an eBook format for just $0.99.

What I like about Harlequin’s site is that they don’t just have romance books. In the nonfiction categories, you can also find books on “self help“, “family and parenting” and even “fun and games“. Given that I’m a new mom, one such non fiction title that I would be interested in reading is Susan Wiggs and Andrea N. Richesin’s “Because I Love Her” as it focuses on the relationship and bond between mothers and daughters. It’s available in either trade paperback for $11.16 or digitally for $10.04, though at those prices, I definitely suggest you opt for the physical version of the book. I much prefer reading an actual book over an eBook, but the latter is definitely better for travelling.

As for shipping, first time customers of Harlequin get their order shipped absolutely free and returning customers can benefit from free shipping on orders over $15. For more Harlequin coupon codes, check out the forum.

Lonely Planet Coupon Code: Free eBook with Guidebook Purchase

Lonely Planet Coupon Code: Free eBook with Guidebook Purchase

Lonely Planet has released a new coupon code. Purchase a guidebook and receive any ebook for free.

Click here to shop @ Lonely Planet now

  • Coupon Code: EBOOKFREE
  • Discount: free eBook with book purchase
  • Expiry: 22nd August 2014

Choose any print book and any eBook. Add both copies to your cart and then apply the coupon code. It will take off the cost off the eBook. This is, essentially, a two for one deal that can come in handy if you are traveling to a couple different places this coming year.

When we go anywhere truly exotic, we like to pick up the travel books. It really improves the quality of our trip and we use the guidebook to ensure we are not missing any big attractions during our stay. If you are traveling to Iceland, I suggest picking up the physical copy of the travel guide. A lot of the country is wild so you might not want to be carting your tablet around with the eBook version. The Iceland Travel Guide retails for $25.99 USD. It is probably my favourite place that we have traveled to so far. The air was incredibly clean and the weather was absolutely perfect (we went in May). There was so much to do and see as well. I loved hiking up a glacier, snorkeling the rift, and caving in volcano tubes.

Second on my list of favourite places that I have visited is New Zealand. They have amazing foliage, beautiful beaches including black sand (which is so soft on your feet), and one of the most volcanically active surfaces in the world: Rotarua. It is an incredible place to visit and I would love to go back. Well, except for the horribly long flight. Pick up the eBook version of the New Zealand Travel Travel Guide. The eBook retails for $19.59 USD, but you will receive it free with the above coupon code.

I am all about experiencing new things, but I had such fun in these places that I really want to go back. I feel like I can do so much more in these beautiful countries.

Lonely Planet offers free shipping on orders over US$40.  I found that my order was still free as long as the original price was over $40, even if the coupon brought it under that.

Check the Bargainmoose forums for more Lonely Planet coupons that you might find useful.
