SnowPass Program for Grades 4 & 5 -- $30 @

With being in the midst of winter vacation season - and Family Day approaching - this was the perfect time to discover the Canadian Ski Council's SnowPass program. And to share it with you!

The SnowPass Program entitles kids aged 9 & 10 to three lift tickets at each of the participating resorts, all for $29.95. So, if you're lucky enough to live within a reasonable distance of two (or three) of the hills, the child would actually be able to ski or snowboard 6 (or 9) times at no extra charge. Or maybe you're travelling to another one of the resorts -- they'd get their 3 lift tickets there, too.

Speaking of resorts: there are 150 currently participating across the country. If you'd like to ensure your local (or destination) ski hill is one of them, the list can be found here.

There application process is simple and only requires some basic information, a photo of the child, proof of age and the $29.95 fee. You only need to apply once for a SnowPass and it’s valid until the end of grade 5. So, if you apply in grade 4 the pass is valid for two years.

My brother and I skied growing up (there was also an ill-fated snowboarding attempt that culminated in a hospital visit but that's a whole other story) and I'm sure my mother would have loved it if a program like this had existed then because it's not a cheap hobby!

This is a great way to get kids involved in more outdoor activities without breaking the bank. And if they're already shredding the slopes, it's still nice to save some money getting them there! For more information, you can find the brochure here.

Do your children ski or snowboard, Moosers?
