Who wants a slice of free pizza? Just take your used, abused, and no longer relevant to your daily life electronics to your local Pizza Pizza. Recycle them at Pizza Pizza to receive a free slice of pepperoni or cheese pizza!
The Slices for Devices campaign is across 400 or so Pizza Pizza locations in Canada. There is a limit of four devices per person, which equals four free slices of pizza. While this April recycling program no longer includes ink cartridges, you can recycle the following types of electronics:
- Mobile and smart phones
- Digital cameras
- iPods and MP3 players
- Hand held gaming consoles
Now, if you have a company looking to recycle bigger electronics, the program has extended. Companies can donate devices in exchange for Club 11-11 gift cards towards your next pizza party. Whether you are a company or an individual, either way you get free pizza. Pizza Pizza is accepting the following devices from companies:
- LCD displays (Computer/ TVs)
- Laptops
- CPU Towers
- Desktop computers
- Speakers
As an individual, you may be able to recycle some of these items as well.
April is the perfect month for recycling your electronics as Earth Day falls within April and the month is generally considered to be Earth Month. All devices collected will be recycled or refurbished. The profits from refurbished devices are donated to the Children's Miracle Network. Frankly, it is a win-win situation all around. The Earth receives less toxic devices dumped in her ground, you get free pizza, and the Children's Miracle Network receives much-needed funds.
Unfortunately, there are no Pizza Pizza locations on Vancouver Island or else I would be hopping over there to donate some old electronics lying around. I am curious where one can donate electronics that do not fall within Pizza Pizza's accepted list. I have a dead (and antiquated) alarm clock that is just sitting around taking up space. I was going to give it away until I figured out it did not work anymore. I would never dump something like that in a landfill - so I need to do my homework.
