This is another one of these great deals from the hardware companies. I love that they are rewarding customers for buying their components. They really don't need to. It's kind of silly actually. I can't imagine anyone getting a new processor at $330 to $1150 just to get a free $30 game. If you're in the market for a new processor, you're very likely to get it from the brand you want, regardless of a deal. I could see this deal making you buy it earlier or get a slightly different model, but if you have an AMD board, this shouldn't sway you to the Intel site.
But if you're in the market, or are planning to be in the market, this is a great deal. FFXIV: ARR is a relaunch of the FFXIV MMORPG. The original game came out in 2010 and everyone hated it. I mean EVERYONE. SquareEnix then did the unexpected by announcing that FFXIV would be shuttered and relaunched as FFXIV:ARR. They pulled off the impossible by releasing a game that people love. This is one of those stories that you don't hear about very often, but when you do it warms the cockles of your heart. I know my cockles are warm just writing about it.
