Not impressed that I bought a Kobo on Friday and this was never mentioned. Anyone think if I go to the store today with my receipt and complain they will get me 5000 points?

  Yes. I think you will get them. Here is the fine print: "Offer valid August 12-14, 2011 on eligible, in-stock Kobo Touch eReaders, in-store or online, using a valid plum rewards membership. Not valid in conjunction with any other plum rewards offer. Offer may change or end at any time without notice." So the deal actually started on the 12th.
