IKEA Canada recalls LATTJO Bat Cape

My girls love to dress up and we have a heaping chest full of costumes in our playroom. If your kids are like mine when it comes to dress-up clothes, you should have a quick look around the playroom and tickle chest for this LATTJO Bat Cape, sold at IKEA Canada from November 2015 to February 2016.

IKEA has issued a recall for this product after a few reports (from Canada and Sweden) of the cape not unfastening correctly at the connector around the neck, hence posing a potential strangulation hazard.

There have been no reports of serious injuries, but this is one of those 'better-safe-than-sorry' cases. If you have this dress up bat cape at home, you should stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest IKEA store for a full refund.

There have not been that many of these sold in Canada so chances are slim, did any of you find the LATTJO cape in your dress-up bin?
