It breaks my heart to say it, but the rumours that started circling yesterday are true: all Home Outfitters stores in Canada are closing.
Hudson's Bay Co. announced plans to shut down all 37 Home Outfitters locations across the country sometime this year.
And if all that wasn't sad enough, HBC also intends to close as many as 20 of their Saks Off Fifth locations in the United States – so if you want to get any cross-border shopping done, you may need to make a trip soon.
There is a little bit of a silver lining to all this, though. HBC says that almost every single Home Outfitters location is near a Hudson's Bay store, so you may still be able to pick up some of their signature dishes, cookware, curtains, area rugs and home décor there instead.
But in the meantime, it might be a good idea to find a Home Outfitters store near you and get shopping. Liquidation sales are slowly beginning, and select items are up to 75% off this weekend!
