Esso Switches Loyalty Program to PC Optimum

Esso Switches Loyalty Program to PC Optimum

In a few months, you won't be able to earn Aeroplan miles at Esso gas stations – but you'll be able to score something else: PC Optimum points.

Imperial Oil, the company behind Esso, announced on Tuesday that, starting on June 1, 2018, they're switching their loyalty program from Aeroplan to PC Optimum.

So what does that mean? Sorry Aeroplan collectors, but you won't be able to earn miles when you fill up. Instead, PC Optimum members will receive 10 points per litre of fuel and 10 points for every dollar spent on eligible Esso convenience store purchases and car wash services at one of the more than 1,800 Esso locations across Canada.

If you're not a PC Optimum member yet, this is definitely an extra incentive to sign up! You're going to need to fill up on gas anyway, and you can use the points you earn toward purchases at Real Canadian Superstore, Loblaws, Zehrs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Joe Fresh, Beauty Boutique and a few other stores!

The PC Optimum program is already in place at Mobil gas stations.
