Air Canada is Waiving Flight Change Fees

With the new coronavirus now detected in countries around the world, many people are understandably reconsidering their travel plans. Some governments are outright advising people to avoid travel, and many tourist destinations are shuttered anyway, as folks try to minimize exposure to and the spread of the virus.

The entire process of postponing a vacation or business trip can be exhausting, but Air Canada just implemented a new policy that should make things a little bit easier on you and your wallet. Last week, the airline announced that they would waive change fees for flights booked between March 4 and 31, 2020.

"Air Canada will allow you to make a one-time change to your flight without incurring a change fee up to 14 days before travel. Kindly note that any fare difference will apply," a notice on their website reads. You can make changes to your existing plans online, through a travel agent or by calling 1-888-247-2262.

This one-time change fee waiver will also apply to Aeroplan Flight Reward bookings, but you'll need to contact Aeroplan directly if you want to make any changes to those flights. Air Canada Vacations will also change their policies slightly to accommodate people who need to make last-minute trip adjustments.
