I love bringing melamine plates with us when we go camping, they take up less space than stoneware or china, they're not breakable, they're lightweight and are so easy to wash by hand.
Usually though, the plates I have found in melamine are fairly plain, albeit a watermelon or two on them. That reminds me—I guess I'm not getting back that watermelon plate that I loaned out to someone. Oh well, like I said, it wasn't the nicest anyway.
