A Guide to Superstore Online Grocery

A Guide to Superstore Online Grocery

Before you venture out on your next monthly, weekly or, yes, daily pilgrimage to Real Canadian Superstore, check this out!

Superstore Online Grocery – also known as Superstore Click and Collect – is one of (if not the) easiest ways to buy groceries. If you're thinking about trying them anytime soon, we put together a quick guide of everything you need to know!

So how does it all work? Well, the whole online grocery shopping process is actually pretty simple and consists of three main steps:

  • 1. Sign in to your account and fill your cart and check out when you're ready.
  • 2. Your personal shopper will select and pack your groceries for you
  • 3. Arrive at your chosen PC Express location for pickup

Why should you buy groceries online? I personally love grocery shopping, but I hate going to the store to actually do it. There's something about battling the crowds and waiting in a checkout line that always makes me wish I was curled up at home and snacking instead.

With Superstore Online Grocery, you get to shop from anywhere you want (including on the couch in your jammies), whenever you want (since the site is always open, even if your local store is closed). All you need to do is show up at your designated pickup time – and yes, you can still wear your PJs on the drive over!

How to place a grocery order

Create an account. To start, you'll need to have a PC id. If you don't already have one, you can create an account by entering your name, email address, phone number and postal code and creating a password. Make sure you pick an email you check regularly, since RCSS will send you deals!

Go shopping! Once you're signed in, start filling your cart! You can browse the virtual store by aisle or head to their Cart Starter, which has curated guides of things you might need if you're shopping for everyone from kids to pets! Just keep in mind that you need to spend at least $30 for an online grocery order.

Head to the checkout. When you're ready to check out, RCSS will ask you to select a pickup time and location. You need to place your order within two hours before your designated pickup time slot, so it's always a good idea to get your shopping done a little early.

Phone it in. If you want, you can also place a grocery order over the phone, by calling Customer Service. The Online Grocery hotline is 1-866-999-9890 and is open from 8 AM to 12 AM EST every day.

Changing your order. If you change your mind about something, you can always change your order by editing your cart before your designated cut-off time.

Picking up your order at PC Express

Picking up your order. When it comes time to pick up your Online Grocery order, head to your selected store and drive on into a PC Express reserved parking space! RCSS employees will load your groceries into your car for you, so you can just kick back and relax!

How much does Online Grocery cost? Pickup fees can vary, but prices usually range from $3 to $5. If you're hoping to save a little extra $$, check our tips below!

Get it delivered! Delivery is now available in some locations through Instacart. To sign up, head to instacart.ca or download their app and select "Real Canadian Superstore" from their store menu. Create an Instacart account (or sign in if you already have one), put your order together, schedule your delivery and pay!

Tips for Saving a Little Extra Money

When you shop online at RCSS, you're getting the same deals, promotions and discounts you would if you bought your groceries in-store, like the Superstore flyer. However, there are a few extra ways that going digital can help you save money!

Take advantage of the new customer discount. Right now, new Superstore Online Grocery customers won't need to pay ANY pickup fees for their first 31 days! All you need to do is make sure you enter the code FREEMONTH at checkout when you place your first online order over $30.

Don't forget about PC Optimum points! If your PC Optimum card is linked to your RCSS account, you can earn and redeem points when you buy groceries online! To collect points on your online orders, make sure you inform the concierge at pickup and have your PC Optimum card or app ready to scan. And if you're not a member yet, you can always sign up for PC Optimum.

Score some extra PC Optimum points! While you're at it, why not get 10,000 bonus PC Optimum points, just for buying your usual groceries? All you need to do is spend at least $100 at Superstore Online Grocery (before fees and taxes) and enter the code BM10K2018 when you check out. You can learn more about this deal here.

Use coupons and price match. If you spot a product elsewhere for a lower price, you could save on your online order! To price match or ad match, pick up your grocery order and then fill out the Contact Us Form. See full details on how to complete this form here.

Bring reusable bags. Superstore uses plastic bags when preparing your order and includes bag fees in your total charge – but you can opt to use your own reusable bags! Just leave a note on the Substitutions & Notes page.

Return anything that isn't fresh. RCSS employees try hard to select the freshest produce and perishable goods for you, but they also don't expect you to pay for something you can't eat! See their return policy in the FAQ section of their site.

And don't forget to check all the latest Real Canadian Superstore coupons!
