The Gro Clock is an ingenious little device that helps kids learn when it's bedtime and teaches them to (hopefully!) stay in bed a little longer. Children learn when it's time to get up by staying in bed until they see the sun. Each clock comes with a great book, with beautiful pictures, that was written to specifically accompany the Gro clock. Percy, the tired and grumpy pig, learns that sleeping all night long helps everyone to be happy and full of energy for fun!
It's been updated since its first release (so if you have an older one, you might want to upgrade) and you can now choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the 'stars to sun' countdown. So, older children can start to learn digital time while the await for the arrival of the sun. I think this helps extend the usefulness of the clock, as well.
