Just when I thought breakfast cereal couldn't get any sweeter, Post Foods and Tim Hortons came out with a pretty collaboration. They basically reinvented morning foods, because now, you don't even have to head to your local Timmies to treat yourself. You can have a bowl of Timbits cereal right in your kitchen!
I saw a few tweets and Instagram posts about the cereal over the holidays, but (much to my disappointment) I quickly learned that the boxes were only available in American stores. So I realized I might not have the chance to try the cereal or make somebody else test it out, sucked it up and moved on.
But then the news finally broke yesterday. In a joint media release, Post Foods Canada and Tim Hortons announced their partnership and let the country know that two flavours of Timbits cereal would soon be available right here in the True North. They haven't actually treated us to an exact release date, but both Post Timbits Chocolate Glazed Cereal and Post Timbits Birthday Cake Cereal will be available in "early 2020."
I imagine both of these will be the kind of rot-your-teeth sweet, sugary cereals that I really can't handle more than a bite or two of. I haven't eaten gluten since last June, but I'm still tempted to try at least a piece once they're available. So what do you think? Will you buy and try the new Timbits cereal? And if so, which flavour?
