What's great about Xbox 360 Kinect is that it is a full-body input system, where you are the controller. You need to do the motions with your entire body, rather than just your thumbs, to move the characters in the games.
There are many great controller-free games for Xbox 360, and you can get a lot of them, plus HD movies from Xbox LIVE. You need an internet connection to access this service.
