Telus Canada: Student Internet Discounts & $50 Visa Card (BC & AB)

If you are a student in British Columbia or Alberta, you can take advantage of special internet pricing for students and get a free $50 pre-paid Visa when you switch to Telus Canada (if you haven't been with Telus in the past 90 days).

Click through the link at the top of the page that says 'sign-up online' to view the deals. You can also call in your order if you want. Here are the packages for students:

  • TELUS Internet 6 - $25/m (reg $50)
  • TELUS Internet 15 - $25/m (reg $55)
  • TELUS Internet 25 - $30/m (reg $65)
  • TELUS Internet 50 - $40/m (reg $80)

Those prices are for internet only. If you sign up for a second service, you can get another $5 off that price.

You get those prices for twelve months, contract-free. On your thirteenth month the price will go back to the regular price. At that time, I would consider looking for a new deal, or if you are still a student talk to Telus about renewing your student deal.

I am going to be getting the Internet 25 package - internet alone. Right now I am paying $60 at Shaw, including taxes, and they just let me know they are raising the rate by another $5 come the first of September. I signed up for this promotion last night online and am just waiting for Telus to call me back today to set up an installation date. Then I will give Shaw my 30 days notice. Suddenly, my internet cost will be cut in half, and I will have a $50 Visa card to spend. Yay!

(Expiry: 4th November 2013. Pre-paid Visa card only while supplies last).
