Earlier this week I shared my list of long-weekend essentials, and one item on that list is the Stearns Puddle Jumper Floatation Device. My family can't go without ours, both my three-year-old and eight-year-old (even though she's a great swimmer) wear them constantly at the cottage, beach and on vacation.
I thought it was worth its own post and had a look around for the best price. Found this one on Amazon.ca for $26.68, shipped. It's the lowest I have seen from an online source after looking at several other retailers, which tend to sell these for $30-50. Toys R Us has them for $24.99 but available in-store only (if you can get to a store, this is your best bet price wise!)
It is this specific colour and design that is available for $26.68, you can get an array of other fun colours and designs, but all will cost you a little bit more. This one is nice and gender-neutral in blue and orange, so if it's price that's motivating you, it's the one. There is still time to have this delivered before the long weekend—order it today and choose one day shipping to have it by Friday May 20 (of course, one day shipping comes with a fee!).
These floaties are made from woven polyester and is designed for children between 30-50 pounds. They are excellent for kids learning to swim, but also for capable swimmers when you want a little peace-of-mind while they are in the water.
Obviously you should never leave your kids unattended near any water but I certainly find I'm able to relax a little bit more when they've got their jumpers on.
