The Soil Moisture Meter Tester Hydrometer automatically tests moisture levels every 2 hours. If the plant is in need of a drink, then you'll be alerted to water it.
There's also a manual mode, and this tells you the moisture levels when you press the button.
With this meter, it means you won't dehydrate your plant to it's death, nor water it so much that the roots rot.
All you have to do is leave it in your plant soil, and it'll detect water at the root level.
It's battery operated and even despite it's cheap selling price, the batteries are included.
