Meglio Pro Pasta Maker Only $33 & Free Shipping @ Amazon.ca!

I was browsing Amazon for pasta makers, as I’d seen a sale price on this Remy Olivier one on Stokes, but it didn’t come with free shipping. I’ve come across this MEGLIO AEPM01 Pro Traditional Style Pasta Maker which has been reduced from $50 down to only $32.98 and that’s with free super saver shipping.

The only drawback with this deal is that there’s a bit of a long wait to receive your pasta maker. Amazon.ca states that it will ship within 1 to 2 months. That’s pretty slow, but worth it for this price. Just make the order… forget that you’ve placed the order… then get a nice surprise through your door in time for Christmas.

From the image above, this looks like a super-shiny gadget for your kitchen. It even comes with a C-clamp so you can attach the pasta maker to your counter-tops when you are preparing your culinary delights. As for what you can make, here’s a quick list:

  • Spaghetti
  • Fettuccine
  • Lasagna
  • Ravioli

The reviews are non-existent on Amazon.ca, but they’ve got quite a few on the Dot Com (17, in total). The reviews are mostly positive, with comments such as:

This allows you to try pasta making without much of an initial outlay and if you decide you like it, you can upgrade to a more quality (and expensive) machine later.

While I have experimented in the kitchen a fair bit, I can honestly say that I’ve never tried to make my own pasta. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try, but never quite gotten round to investing in the devices needed. For only $33 for this Meglio device, that’d definitely be an encouragement for me to give it a try.

However, I’ve got a very small kitchen with not a huge amount of cupboard space and I’ve always got to think critically before I make a purchase like this. I’d probably have to keep the pasta maker out in the garage somewhere… and I imagine that I’d be all keen and make a load of pasta for a few months, then the device may never see the light of day, ever again.
