Lole Canada: Donate a Coat & Get $50 Off a New Coat

Lole Canada: Donate a Coat & Get $50 Off a New Coat

lole

Lole Canada has started a program where you donate your old coat at one of their drop off centers and you will get $50 off your purchase of a new Lole coat ($180 minimum).

So, this isn't one of our traditional deals, but I still think it is cool. The program is occurring in both Canada and the USA. Coats will be gathered from October 1st through December 1st, 2014. Then, they will all be sent to two pop-up shops to be sold with the proceeds being donated to charity. You can find a list of the charities they donate to here.

United States coats will be sent to New York and sold at the Brooklyn Flea Market. Canadian coats will be sent to Montreal and sold at the Maisonneuve Market. The coats will be 'yellow labeled' ensuring a quality standard has been met. All coats donated must be:

  • less than five years old
  • clean and in good condition
  • not torn

Coats will be sold at the market for $10 to $50. If you are in Montreal during the sale, you can choose to pay more for your coat and the extra money will be donated directly to a local food bank.

Most of the drop-off locations are in Quebec or Ontario. However, there are also locations in Edmonton, Regina, Banff, and Halifax. You can find their addresses through this link.

As for the $50 gift card you will receive for your generous donation, it can be used on a new winter coat of a minimum $180 purchase price. Thus, this gift card gives you over 30% off a new coat and is a nice way to give to Canadians who are less fortunate than yourself.

I really wish there was a drop off location on Vancouver Island as I have a couple coats I am no longer using (and that do not fit) that I would love to re-home. I might not use the $50 gift certificate for Lole myself, but I could always give it away to a fellow Mooser who does want to use it. Unfortunately, my closest drop off location is Edmonton. Maybe I will have to take an extra coat back in November when I go to visit my parents.

If your coat does not sell at the market, it will be donated to charity as well. This deal is a win-win situation for everyone involved.

(Expiry: 1st December 2014)
