Google Play Store: How The Grinch Stole Christmas Interactive Book for Only 99 cents + More Dr. Seuss Deals (Up to 80% Off)

I'm all for vegetation homicide but only as a pastime. Putting it to good use, like making books out of it, is caveman thinking. That's why Bargainmoose and Google Play are bringing you Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas for only 99 cents!

(I'm kidding, by the way. If your pastime is cutting down trees for no good reason, you're probably an idiot.)

I don't know the before price but I think it was $4.99. Regardless, 99 cents is an amazing deal for this app. The app is made by Oceanhouse Media who has done this with dozens of books, many of which I own for my son. They are the masters at digitizing books for a touch screen device and adding all the modern touches to help your kid learn and enjoy the book.

They take these books and break them down into three reading modes:.

  • "Read to Me" — listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read
  • "Read it Myself" — read the book in its traditional form
  • "Auto Play" — plays like a movie, automatically reading and turning pages. Great for younger children!
As I said, I have a bunch of these for my son (although I personally find It's Tyrannosaurus Rex! to be particularly thrilling) and they really are great books. I'm not one to parent other peoples children but for me, these are family activities.
You could definitely plop your kid on the couch with a tablet and let it read to him but I find it better to sit with him and read along. Seems less like sticking him in front of another warmly glowing babysitter.
If the Grinch isn't your thing, all the Oceanhouse Dr. Seuss books are 40% to 80% off this week so have at it!
