Fun Family Freebies This Weekend

Fun Family Freebies This Weekend

I love spending time with my family on the weekend, but it can get expensive for a family of 4 to do something outside of the house that we normally wouldn't do.  For this reason, I often look for inexpensive and fun things to do around the city.  I found 2 activities that anyone can do this Saturday that are completely free for your family.

The first one is atToys R Us.  They are hosting a Monster High and Hot Wheels event this Saturday October 20th from noon until 2pm in stores.  You can create your own personalized Monster High bag or Hot Wheels car and race your car on the new ultimate track.  There is no purchase required to participate and there will be a maximum of 100 per store given away.

Toys R Us often hosts these types of events and they are a lot of fun.  They can get quite busy, so my best advice is to get there early to take full advantage of the festivities.

The second family fun event that is totally free is at Cineplex movie theaters.  This Community Day Event is offering free movies Saturday October 20th starting at 9am for everyone.  There are 6 different movies to choose from and the doors will be open at 8:30am. This event will be held in select movies theaters across Canada.

There is a list of movie theaters that will be hosted for each province and I can say that there are quite a few.  In Calgary for example, the first free movie starts at 9am and the last one starts at 10am.  They have a variety to choose from that are not just for kids.  You could go see anything from How to Train Your Dragon to Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.  As for the refreshments, they are not free;  however, they have priced all refreshments at just $2 each and all of the proceeds will go to the Starlight Children's Foundation.  I love that this free event will be benefiting children.  My family and I have already picked out which movie we are going to see and can't wait for this event.

These are two fun free events that you can take advantage of this weekend. Having fun with the family does not have to break the bank!
