Dell Canada: PNY 64GB Turbo 3.0 USB Flash Drive Now $30 (Save $40)

Dell Canada is sporting some heavy-duty deals during their 72-hour sale including $40 off this PNY Technologies 64GB Turbo 3.0 USB Flash Drive. Originally $69.99, this bountiful flash drive is now on sale for $29.99 and comes with Dell's usual free shipping.

I really must commend Dell on this offer; it is a fantastic price for a 64GB flash drive at 3.0 speed that transfers data up to 10 times faster than the old 2.0 USB sticks. You can see from the pretty little chart below just how much faster this stick is than its predecessors.

The data above assumes that you are using a USB 3.0 port on your computer. If you are using a 2.0 port, then transfers will be slower. I just figured out that one of my ports is not the same as the other two – so I am wondering if I have one 3.0 port and two 2.0 ports. I must investigate.

I price compared this device with a few other places to make sure you were getting the best deal. I found the same device at TigerDirect.ca for $39.99 + shipping, Amazon.ca for $44.28, and at NCIX Canada for $46.63 + shipping. Dell's price is quite evidently the best.

Most reviews for this product are quite solid across websites. One reviewer said:

I have a recording security system feeding a DVR. I can be away for days, come back and download from the DVR using the PNY 64GB Flash Drive. Never run out of space, and feeds right into my desktop in seconds using the 3.0 USB port. Great timesaver at a terrific price.

This device is the perfect backup for people on the go. It is also great for moving files in between computers. If you are working on some documents at home (often called taking home your work), it does not matter the size of the files - you can transport them at your leisure. You can also use the flash drive for transporting software or graphic heavy programs that could not possibly be sent back and forth via traditional methods.

I do not work much with flash drives myself, but if my hard drive keeps deciding not to back up my computer, I will be considering buying one to back up my most important folders and my entire pictures files. I probably would not miss much on my computer except for them... and my bookmarks of course.

Thanks! My USB ports are odd. two of them have what look like SS in front of the USB sign, and the other has what looks like a lightning bolt in front of the USB sign. They are also on opposite sides of my laptop.
