Comixology: Grimm Fairy Tales 50% Off!

Comixology is at it again with another great series of books on sale!

This series is basically a different take on the classic fairly tales told by German Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. These are fairy tales like The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. It isn't a kid's thing though, as is evidenced by it's 17+ rating. Really not for the kiddie's bedtime stories. In this sale you can get single issues, collected editions or Omnibi. There is actually an overarching story line too that I'm interested to get into. Wikipedia has a pretty good synopsis of the series:

Each issue of Grimm Fairy Tales has two parts: a frame story and a fairy tale. The frame story revolves around Dr. Sela Mathers, a Doctor/Professor of Literature who has been given the ability to help people by showing them fairy tales with a lesson about their life. She struggles with the fact that people ignore her advice and ruin their lives anyway, and begins using her ability to dispense justice instead (see issue #15 "The Three Little Pigs"). Sela's nemesis is Belinda, who has the same ability as Sela but uses it for evil.

The other portion of the story is a twisted version of a classic fairy tale. The fairy tales are often violent and end in depressing ways, warning the readers to change their lives or suffer a similar (sometimes, worse) fate.

Sounds pretty cool. To be fully honest, I'm kinda conflicted because they look really cool but I'm still in the middle of another series. I don't want to start Grimm yet, because I know I'll forget the current one I'm on. I've always been like that but that's my problem, not yours. You. Go. Buy.

Excellent art work, but extremely hyper-sexualized.

That's another reason I didn't get it. =/ It's bad in most comics but this is beyond.

Thanks for the info about this half off comic sale. I've been using comixology on my smartphone for a few weeks now. Comixology also has free comics to download, such as Walking Dead #1, which was the inspiration for the Walking Dead tv series.
