Do you know what I hate about inkjet printers? The ink dries up if you do not use it regularly and then you are left with a really ugly doorstop that won't spit out a printed sheet of paper to save its life. Alternatively, you can invest a little more money into a laser printer and not have to worry about replacing ink cartridges. Amazon Canada has a fantastic deal on the Brother HLL2320D Monochrome Laser Printer. Originally $139.99, the printer is on sale for just $59.83 with free shipping.

I price compared the Brother HLL2320D Monochrome Laser Printer with several other online retailers. It costs $99.99 @ NCIX.com, $104.99 @ Tiger Direct Canada and $139.99 @ Best Buy Canada. Given that this printer is at least $40 less than the nearest competitor (and that is excluding shipping charges from NCIX), I figure this is a pretty hot buy.

In fact, I am thinking of buying this. My current printer just ran out of ink - again. There is no way that I printed 200+ pages on the current ink cartridges either! If I buy brand name (HP) ink for my printer, it will cost me at least $40 and that is on the low side. I might as well invest another $20 and get a printer that will not fail me so fast.

Also, this printer has really good reviews on multiple websites. One reviewer on Best Buy said:

Great printer. Nice size, fast printing, good quality printing. I like that it had no hanging parts outside but the paper tray is a drawer and the output is on top. I recommend this printer to anyone needing a simple, well priced laser printer.

I like how this is a compact unit with a 250-sheet capacity paper tray that handles letter or legal size paper. It also does double-sided printing, which my current printer does not. I far prefer double-sided printing as it saves on the cost of paper and also reduces bulk when stapling papers together.

If you are in the market for a new printer, I highly recommend this unit for your next purchase. If you are lucky, you can still use the Visa Debit offer for $10 off $40 when you pay with a Visa Debit (or Amazon) card.
