You Can Watch FREE Kids' Shows on Amazon!

You Can Watch FREE Kids' Shows on Amazon!

If social distancing is already getting to you, I feel your pain. I'm already bored of watching Netflix and lamenting the fact that we don't have Hulu here in Canada. I'm even considering shelling out for a Disney+ account, although I'm not quite ready to enter my credit card information for that one just yet.

However, I was really excited to learn about Kanopy, a streaming service that's completely FREE for some Canadians! All you need is a valid library card or student ID to sign up, and you'll be able to access all kinds of films and documentaries, provided your local library or school partners with their program.

And Kanopy isn't the only place where you can score FREE content. Amazon Prime Video also has a collection of kids' TV shows that you can stream right now, all without a Prime membership! You do need a valid Amazon account, but you should have one if you've ever purchased anything from them before.

These won't exactly be titles you'll immediately recognize, and there aren't new episodes of PAW Patrol on here. However, these shows can save you from watching Frozen for the 13th time this week. I was especially excited to see that Amazon turned If You Give a Mouse a Cookie into a series, because that was one of my favourite stories when I was younger. And this isn't just for preschoolers. They have shows for older kids, too!

But if you need something to binge-watch yourself, you can always sign up for a FREE Amazon Prime trial. That will give you 30 days to access shows like Fleabag, Parks and Recreation and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, plus all kinds of movies. After that, you can choose to cancel your membership or pay a monthly fee.
