Out of all the gym equipment that requires increase of heart-rate, the elliptical is my favourite. Your feet never leave the foot pads, so it is really easy on the legs and the feet if you have any problems with either or both of them. I land on my feet oddly, so with my feet in constant contact with a surface, I am not feeling the pain of an awkward foot constantly landing on a hard surface.
If I had the room in my home (all of 650 sqft.) I would get this elliptical because I like being able to exercise inside when the weather is miserable outside. Besides, the cost of the elliptical is about the cost of a year's worth of gym fees and at least with the elliptical you actually own it.
