This book is friggin' awesome and the only thing that could possibly make it better is Amazon Canada and Bargainmoose bringing it to you for this price. Magic.
I have been going back and forth about whether or not I should write this up as a deal. It isn't a sale per se, but the price is so amazing and the product is so awesome that I just had to put it up here. First off, the deal is as such: the book retails for $34.99 but Amazon.ca has it for $11.83 less at $23.18. So $24 for a book, big deal right? Well hold on, I'll explain in a minute.
Before that though, I want to point out that, as is Amazon's policy, they price match up to the date the item is released. So if the price goes lower between now and its release date of 29th January 2013, you get the lower price. The price on this one has indeed gone lower since I first looked at it a few months ago so it may continue to slide.
So why is this such a good deal? It's because the book is so awesome to a certain subset of people that they could easily sell it for $50+ and make a ton of money. I'll leave it up to the professionals to tell you why it's such a great book.
From Amazon.ca:
Dark Horse Books and Nintendo team up to bring you The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, containing an unparalleled collection of historical information on The Legend of Zelda franchise. This handsome hardcover contains never-before-seen concept art, the full history of Hyrule, the official chronology of the games, and much more! Starting with an insightful introduction by the legendary producer and video-game designer of Donkey Kong, Mario, and The Legend of Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, this book is crammed full of information about the storied history of Link's adventures from the creators themselves! As a bonus, The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia includes an exclusive comic by the foremost creator of The Legend of Zelda manga - Akira Himekawa!
Obviously this is only going to be interesting to people who like Zelda games but in a certain age range, that is a lot of people. At this price, even a casual Zelda fan like myself, should be picking up a copy. I certainly will be getting a copy of this book. I'm even thinking of getting some for people for Christmas and just printing out and wrapping the pre-order receipt. How many Zelda fans out there? Let me see a show of hands in the comments.
