Shop.ca has the Nesco 1.7L cordless electric glass kettle on for only $49.99, regularly $79.99. I could not find this cheaper at any Canadian online retailer.

This is definitely an item I should purchase. I boil water for my newly found love of tea in a pot. A pot does work fine, but a kettle is so much more efficient and this kettle looks much nicer, especially when guests come over for tea.

It isn't the largest kettle there is, but it fits 1.7L of water very nicely, which is quite a few cups of tea (or whatever else you need the water for).

This kettle boils faster than most microwaves and uses half the energy of a stove-top. It also has auto shut-off, unlike your stove-top, where the water will sit boiling until you remember to turn it off (like I just did).

The cordless design is very handy so it can be used anywhere, even camping. I love the look of the clear glass pitcher. It has level marks, which makes measuring for baking and other types of cooking very easy.
