Lynda.com: 10-Day Free Trial Of Online Web & Photo Courses

new

Learn a new skill from the privacy of your own couch! Lynda.com is offering a free 10-day trial right now so you can test drive the classes. There are online classes offered for all sorts of topics such as business, photography, web and more. Choose to keep the subscription, or cancel before the end of your trial.

It is time to learn something new Moosers, and I found a freebie that will help you pick up skills that can bring you some extra cash. Check out all the web courses at Lynda.com. There are over 3,600 video courses online you can view when you sign up for a completely free trial from Lynda.com, and they add new courses every week. Check out the list of categories available.

  • Developer
  • Design
  • Web
  • Photography
  • Business
  • Education
  • 3D + Animation
  • Video
  • Audio + Music

To sign up for this free trial, you will need a credit card or will need to link your PayPal account. You can choose whether to sign up for a month-to-month plan for $24.99 or choose the $34.99 premium plan. The regular plan gives you access to all of the courses, whereas the premium plan allows you additional downloadable materials that supplement the course. I believe the trial only gives you access to the online courses, not the downloadable materials, but they aren't completely clear. There are also payment options for a yearly membership. You can cancel this subscription before the end of the free trial and will not have to pay anything. Lynda.com gives direction on how to cancel the membership while you are signing up if you are only taking advantage of the free trial:

Once logged in, you can cancel your trial or membership by holding the cursor over your name at the top right of any page and selecting Account + billing. If you cancel within a billing cycle, your membership stays active until the end of the billing cycle, and you'll not be billed for the following period.

There are multiple reasons why you may want to consider checking out these classes:

  • Start your own weekend or side business such as a web company or photography business
  • Extra training and skills for your current job
  • Enhance your ability to make funny cat videos for YouTube
  • Learn new skills that can help you change careers
  • Learn how to take better pictures or how to create a website for your family reunion.

There are some highlighted reviews from users about their classes on the website. Here is one of the reviews Lynda.com features:

I really love your site. I have learned so much and, thanks to you, I have just released my first app for iPhone. —Stephanie J.

There are other ways to learn things on the web such as reading blogs or watching YouTube videos. The problem is you spend lots of time searching out the skills you want to learn. Some of the advice can sometimes be dicey depending on the source. A database of courses can be very helpful when you are starting a project, starting a new business or if you just like learning new things.
