Age of Empires, in my circle, was a huge game. I don't know if it was like that with everyone, but from the very respectable 81% rating it has on MetaCritics, well, I'd say it was well received. Even the expansions, The WarChiefs and The Asian Dynasties have 80% and 81% respectively.
I absolutely love RTS, and Age of Empires is no exception. It has been a while since I've played it, but it was definitely a top notch game back in the day and I suspect nothing has changed. I actually don't think I ever owned it. I'm fairly confident we just went to my buddy Patrick's house and bummed off of his copy for hours at a time. Regardless, it was fun and for $13.59 (was approx $41) you can't go wrong. You even get the two expansion packs I mentioned earlier.
And on a side note, Psychonauts is on sale for 80% off so while you're grabbing a copy of AoE3, you might as well toss in $2 for this awesome platformer!
