Yakitori Chicken Recalled Due To Listeria @ Costco Canada

Yet another listeria recall at Costco folks! This time, the food recall warning is on the Ajinomoto brand Yakitori Chicken with Japanese Style Fried Rice. It is recalled due to possible contamination—listeria monocytogenes again. Again, this is a Class 1 recall and you are prompted to immediately return or get rid of the item in question.

The Yakitori Chicken products involved in this recall have a BB/MA date of 16 JL 01 to 17 MA 07 inclusive, and their UPC is 0 71757 05642 8. If you think you have this product, return it or throw it out immediately.

Further, if you think you have ingested this product, immediately call your doctor. Costco is NOT taking this recall lightly, with good reason. Also remember that food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes (I am getting good at spelling that after all these recalls) may not appear spoiled or smell spoiled. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, fever, aches, headache and stiffness. Pregnant women have the scariest symptoms. The infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or worst case—stillbirth.

There have been no reported illnesses in Canada with the consumption of this particular aspect of the recall but the vegetable blends that were recently recalled for the same reason had illnesses reported.
