Autism Sensory Friendly Event @ Toys R Us Canada

Autism Sensory Friendly Event @ Toys R Us Canada

In honour of World Autism Month, Toys R Us Canada is hosting an Autism Sensory Friendly Event this weekend!

On Sunday, April 8, 2018, Toys R Us stores across the country will do things a little differently for their first hour of business. For that hour, they're doing away with bright lighting, loud music and crowded aisles and holding a shopping event specifically designed to be more welcoming for people with autism.

The sensory-friendly shopping hour will include no in-store music or announcements, dimmed lighting and designated quiet areas, as well as in-store actives sponsored by Crayola, Tutti-Frutti, Mattel and Magformers.

The first hour of business varies by store. You can see a full list of participating locations here, as well as what time their sensory-friendly event will take place.

Toys R Us Canada also has an Autism Awareness section of their website full of sensory toys. You can also visit that page to make a donation to Autism Canada Speaks with your order.

They have a few more events coming up this month, so check out the Toys R Us Canada events page to see what's happening next!
