Make Cadbury Creme Egg Cookies!

Make Cadbury Creme Egg Cookies!

Oh. my. gosh. She Who Bakeshas posted this phenomenal recipe, and I just had to share it with you Moosers. These delicious cookies will take you a total of 45 minutes to make, and they are fairly simple. The kids are going to love them, and I bet you won't be able to keep your hands off them either.

Here are the ingredients you are going to need:

  • 125g cold, unsalted butter
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Mini Creme Eggs
  • Dairy Milk chocolate bar
  • Fondant Icing Sugar

For best results, you will want to chill the dough before you put in a Mini Creme Egg as well as after. You will start with preheating your oven to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then you can blend together the butter and caster sugar. Once that is all mixed together, add your egg and beat well.

Once that is a consistent mix, go ahead and sift in your flour and add the vanilla extract. Once the dough is all made you can knead it into a ball. Once the dough is all ball shaped, you can wrap it in cling wrap and let it chill for 15 minutes.

This is the fun part! When the dough is chilled, break off a small amount and place a Mini Creme Egg in the centre and wrap the dough around it. Pull any excess off and stick it back to the original ball. Then roll the dough-covered egg in your hands until you have a smooth, round ball and the Creme Egg isn't visible at all.

Repeat that step until you've run out of dough. Then you can place your little bundles on a baking tray and chill them again for another 15 minutes. Once chilled, throw them in the oven for 12 - 15 minutes.

While they are baking you can get your Dairy Milk bar and the Fondant Icing Sugar out. Break the Dairy Milk bar into pieces as small as possible, and slowly melt it in the microwave while stirring it very frequently. Then follow the directions on your Fondant Icing Sugar. You will need two bowls of this. Leave one bowl as white and add some orange food colouring to the other. Then you can get three piping bags and add the three liquid toppings into the bags. Drizzle them across the cookies once they have baked, and voila!
