Dairy Queen Canada: Miracle Treat Day

Today is Miracle Treat Day! That means that today you can indulge yourself in ice cream and feel really good about it.

You might be wondering what all this means. Well, Miracle Treat Day is where all of the proceeds from your Blizzard purchase at Dairy Queen are donated to the Children's Miracle Network. The Children's Miracle Network raises funds for children's hospitals all over the world, with 14 in Canada. Your donation (of buying a blizzard) will stay in your local community and will go to the closest Children's Hospital near you. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember going to Miracle Treat Day once and the hospital to which the donations will go was listed in the store. It looks like there is a children's hospital located in every province that is part of this network.

In case you aren't sure what a blizzard is, I'm sorry you've missed out all these years, but I'll tell you about its delicious goodness. I'm pretty picky with my ice cream and am usually willing to pay top dollar for the best ice cream (like $6 for those little tiny Haagen Daaz containers). I absolutely love blizzards. They are soft serve ice cream mixed with whatever toppings you choose. Unlike a McDonalds McFlurry, I find you get the toppings mixed right in all the way to the bottom. On a McFlurry, the bottom is just ice cream and disappointing.

My favourite blizzard is skor and oreo together, but there are so many flavours and flavour combinations, like oreo cheesecake, chips ahoy, reese peanut butter cup, choco cherry love and s'mores.

What flavour will you get?
