Yes my dear Moosers, we have moved into the land of super cheap Blu-Ray movies to flesh out your budding collection. In this post I feature $5 and under Blu-Ray movies from Amazon Canada.
There are eleven Blu-ray movies that I could find at this price point and lower. A couple I have mentioned before, but most are new due to recent price drops. I will talk about a couple of my favourites and then make sure you have links to the rest.
American Psycho is a classic movie featuring the heartthrob Christian Bale (also known as Batman). Based on a novel about the "me" culture rising in North America, American Psycho is a dark satire with plenty of sex and violence. Originally $19.99, this Blu-Ray movie is on sale for $4.99.
Some people watch Resident Evil: Retribution just to see a hot girl in tight fitting clothing. I can understand. Milla Jovovich looks smashing in this movie. Feast your eyes on plenty of zombies from the Umbrella Corporation as well. Originally $19.99, this Blu-Ray movie is now on sale for $4.88.
I think Moonrise Kingdom (Blu-ray/DVD Combo) may be the hidden gem in this entire sale. It features one of my favourite actors, Edward Norton, as well as the notorious Bruce Willis. All critics on Rotton Tomatoes give the movie a wonderful 94%. Their consensus is:
Warm, whimsical, and poignant, the immaculately framed and beautifully acted Moonrise Kingdom presents writer/director Wes Anderson at his idiosyncratic best.
This looks to be a sweet story about two young kids who fall in love and run away while the authorities and other concerned people try to find them. I do not remember this moving coming out in 2012, but it is one I might want to add to my collection. originally $22.99, the movie is on sale for $5.
