Free Airport Wi Fi!

25 January 2010

A while ago, I came across this post on about airport wi-fi. It has a useful tip about how to get free wi-fi at various airports around the world.

I travel quite a bit and know how frustrating it can be hanging round at airports, and it is nice to have some free internet while you are there! I've used the pay as you go service from Boingo on a number of occasions. Apparently, you can score some free wi-fi from Boingo, as some of the airports gift shops hold free wi-fi cards, you just have to ask for one!

The wisebread article also goes on to state that you can call the toll-free Boingo number and ask for a free promotional code, if you want. Then just logon with some free wi-fi minutes.

Of course this tip isn't going to apply at every single airport, but there's no harm in asking.

Have you any tips on free airport wi-fi?

Another way to get free Wi Fi at airports is to park yourself very near the door of one of the airport airline lounges and use the lounge Wi Fi. Doesn't always work, but it's worth a try.

If you are traveling to the Dominican Republic, the Punta Cana Airport has free wi-fi. I discovered this on my trip last year, i used it on my ipod to pass the time before our plane arrived.
