Sennheiser Momentum Headphones Were $160 | Now $96 @ Amazon.ca (EXPIRED)

Amazon Canada has a special electronic deal of the day for anyone in need of a new headset. Originally $159.99, the Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Headphones are on sale for $95.99 with free shipping.

The last time (and only time) we have blogged about this headset was back in December when they were on sale at Shop.ca for $109. I decided to run a current price comparison against other online retailers of this headset, just to make sure you are getting a good deal.

  • $109 @ NCIX.com
  • $129 + shipping @ Newegg Canada
  • $149.96 @ The Source Canada
  • $159.99 @ Best Buy Canada

While NCIX.com comes in a close second for some colours, other colours are priced at $199. I found this at the majority of places - some colours were on sale while others were not. At Amazon Canada you can choose from any of the colours they carry and you are still saving an extra $13 on top of NCIX's price. There are five colours to choose from:

  • Black
  • Ivory
  • Green
  • Red
  • Brown

Personally, the black are my favourites followed closely by the red colour. I like their solid construction and they have a unique look for headphones. The frequency response is excellent: 16-22,000 Hzwith 110 db. They have a closed design and come with two cables. One cable is a 1.4 m iPod / iPhone cable with integrated smart remote and microphone. The second cable is a 1/3 m cable for computers, phones, and MP3 players that use a headphone input.

Reviews are positive on almost any website that sells this headset. A reviewer on Best Buy Canada said:

These are amazing headphones. The sound is just perfect and it has just the amount of bass i like. The bass doesn't over rule all the other sounds. I totally recommend these. There awesome:)

Another reviewer at The Source gives a huge review, going over things like fit, noise-cancellation, and quality versus price. While some people complained about the (lack of) noise cancellation, he said:

There maybe not as much noise isolation as some might like but if you are using them in an office or walking down the street that is a good thing. ie. If you can't hear your boss calling for you cause you can't hear him...say good bye to wearing them at work...I've seen it happen. Or you know being able to hear a train or car before it hits you is always a good thing.

He raises some good points. Sometimes it is important to be able to hear your surroundings a bit rather than live in perfect bliss. I like a little bleed through when I am walking down the street with my headset. It lets me hear horn honking, sirens, and the person running after me calling my name because I left my credit card in the store.
