And they'll give you a $5 shopping card, too!
FREE Kids' School Break Events @ Toys R Us

Depending on where you live, spring break is either a matter of days or weeks away. And if you're not sure what to do with the kids yet when they're out of classes, just take them to Toys R Us! Stores across the country are breaking out the craft tables and running FREE themed events every day for an entire week.

Since March Break or spring break is held at different times based on where you live, the exact event dates vary by province. These activities will happen in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

These afternoon events all run from 1 to 3 PM, and you can even score a FREE $5 shopping card just for showing up! Supplies are limited, though, so make sure you show up early to claim one before they're all gone. And just so you can mark your calendars, here's what you can expect each day:

Monday: Beyblade Battle and Play Event

If your child loves Beyblades as much as I did when I was young, you might want to swing by a Toys R Us on Monday. Fans can bring their favourite competitors to take part in a battle to win prizes! There are only 32 spots open in each store, so make sure you register online if your kiddo hopes to take part.

Tuesday: Create an adorable keychain charm

It's craft time! Tuesday's event involves the new Crayola Glitter Dots, and your young artists can create a keychain charm. It'll involve all the sparkle and shine that makes glitter fun – but you won't have to clean up any messes from your kitchen table this time. There's no participant cap for this one or the other events.

Wednesday: Mold it, shape it, stretch it! Engage their senses

This one is billed as a "sensory experience for the whole family," since you'll be able to explore all kinds of unique textures, scents and sounds, thanks to ORB Flowtonia and ORB Slimy play sets. They don't really release any other details, so you'll have to show up in-store on Wednesday to find out what's happening.

Thursday: Star Wars Jedi Training Experience

Okay, now this sounds pretty cool. Who wouldn't want to sign up for a Jedi Training Experience. At Toys R Us stores across the country, kiddos can "learn the ways of the Force with Jedi Master Tookai." They'll learn how to yield a lightsaber, and anyone who completes training will receive a Jedi certificate.

Friday: Put their arts and crafts skills to the test

Let that creative side shine! On the last day of events, your kiddos can make all kinds of Out of the Box crafts from Addo, including a sparkly picture. You can also transform pebbles into colourful creatures or make a balloon animal! If you want to buy any kits afterward, know that Addo is a Toys R Us exclusive brand.

If you're looking for more things to do, Chapters is holding a week's worth of Kids' Break Events of their own. Those exact dates also vary by province, and they run different activities and themed games every day.
