If there is a baby in your future, you may want to jump on this deal. Today only Best Buy Canada is offering the Summer Infant Baby Touch 2.0 Video monitor as the deal of the day. This monitor was $270 but is now only $149.99. This order also qualifies you for free shipping.

A video baby monitor is something I very naively thought when I was pregnant was unnecessary. For a smaller home, I assumed you are going to hear the baby cry through an audio monitor and that would work fine. What I did not anticipate is constantly wondering if I should check on the baby every time I heard any sound over the audio monitor. A friend gifted us her video monitor that she no longer needed and I was sold. The monitor made it so much easier to tell whether I needed to head back into the baby's room or not. Whenever I have my second child, a video monitor has moved much higher on the list of kid gear I want in our house.

Features

You can get your own video monitor and save yourself from my mistakes. This Summer Infant brand monitor is the 2.0 model and is equipped with a three and a half inch high resolution screen that will show you your child in day or night time. You can also talk back and forth through the monitor with another person, a handy feature when there is a diaper explosion. This is an expandable monitor system, so you can purchase more and add them to monitor more than one child’s room. There is a one-year manufacturer warranty on parts only.

Price Comparison

I priced compared this model around the web to see what the competition had to offer and here is what I found. If you were to pick up this same monitor @ Walmart.ca  you will pay $239.97. Snugglebugz.ca specializes in baby items and gear, and has this monitor priced at $269.99. Sears Canada has a comparable Summer brand monitor that looks to be the first generation of this model for $239.99.

Reviews

The one review on this monitor on Best Buy is a bit tricky. It appears the reviewer had trouble with the website and rated it three stars even though she really intended to rate it four and a half. Here is that review:

This monitor is a great price today. If I had another kid on the horizon, I would snag one for myself. Shipping will be free on this unit as it more than meets the minimum of $25 to qualify for free shipping. The daily deals at Best Buy have not been lasting all day lately when they are hot, so you may want to snag yours now.
