Rogers customers, there is a special promotion available to you right now. Download the Suretap Wallet and add a payment card (like the Rogers Prepaid MasterCard) to receive $100 credit in the form of a virtual Rogers Prepaid MasterCard on your phone.
There are four steps to receive your $100 PrePaid MasterCard for free. First, you must ensure that you have a Suretap compatible list. The link above will provide you will a full list of the devices. Samsung, HTC, Blackberry, Sony, and and LG are among some of the eligible brands.
Second, you will need a Suretap LTE SIM card. You may already have one, or you may need to get a new one. It looks like the Suretap SIM costs $10 online, but Rogers appears to be offering them for free if you call 1-855-640-7914.
Thirdly, you will need the Suretap application, which can be downloaded through the Google Play store or Blackberry App World. Oddly enough, I could not find the wallet when I just searched for Suretap by myself on the Goggle store. However, here is the direct link to the Suretap Wallet App.
The last step appears to be the one most people have difficulties with. You need to register a payment card to your Suretap wallet - in this case the Rogers Prepaid MasterCard - so that the $100 credit will be applied. The bonus credit is only for the first card you add. After adding/registering your card - you will receive a $100 credit. However, many people have had difficulty with the application crashing around this stage. My suggestion is to re-download the app if you are having difficulties, or to speak with customer service at Rogers.
There are a few other things you need to know. The promotional balance will not expire but you want to use it up quickly as there is a monthly maintenance fee of $2.50 as long as the $100 card is active. The card is only usable at places that accept MasterCard PayPass.
For those unfamiliar with Suretap, it is an app using NFC technology that allows you to pay with your phone instead of having to carry around your credit cards. Suretap Wallet features multiple pass-code levels for security and high quality encryption. It uses similar tap and pay technology as the MasterCard PayPass or VISA payWave and should work at any contactless points of sale.
This promotion is still on for a few weeks but Rogers reserves the right to cancel the promotion at any time.
