As soon as I saw this I knew I needed it. I've got memories of slicing my hand while cutting onions, when the onion slipped. I always make criss cross cuts on the onion, then slice into pieces so it's diced but the onion still slips around.
The Orblue Onion Holder is being sold by Amazon.ca Marketplace Seller Orblue, and the order is fulfilled by Amazon.ca for the usual speedy shipping that Amazon.ca offers.
This is an Amazon lightning deal and is selling out fast so you may want to snag one now while you still can. The sale price is $13.49 down from $15.87, so even if you miss the sale, it's still a decent price for this kitchen gadget.
I love this idea! It's like a giant hair pic from the 80's but with sharp teeth to really dig into the entire onion to secure it in place, keeping you safe. The tines are really sharp so make sure to store it safely where kids can't reach. I'm thinking I would use it for tomatoes, potatoes, and hard boiled eggs as well.
I plan on buying this our household and one for a friend whose arthritis makes it tricky and potentially dangerous to chop onions.
Don't forget to chew gum while chopping your onion! It is supposed to prevent tears while chopping the onion, and tastes good, too. Mmm, bubble gum!
When you're done chopping your onions, use the little oval stainless steel disc with some soap and it will eliminate the bad odour that onions bring to your skin when you chop them.
Shipping is free on this if you're an Amazon Prime Member, or if you spend over $25 on eligible products if you're not. It would be worth it to add something else with a value of $9.03 or higher to receive free shipping, otherwise you will pay around $5 for shipping.
