Put your entertainment center in Harmony with a Logitech Smart Control from FutureShop.
I should have bought one of these for my mother-in-law. She has three remotes and, although she has them all pretty much down, it is kind of a pain in the butt. If you lose one you can't do anything else until you find it, if someone presses a button by accident, it's almost impossible to figure out what happened. It's a mess. Adding a Logitech Harmony Smart Control along with her tablet would be a great option. She can do everything she needs to right from her tablet and, if that is dead or she doesn't like it, she still has the Harmony remote.
You get the programmable remote, access to the Harmony App and an RF receiver that converts the Harmony RF signals to IR or Bluetooth. That means you can use the remote with your entertainment center doors closed. For some people that doesn't matter but if your living room is in a certain theme, it's kind of a bummer to have to show all the LEDs and wires that you have sitting under your TV.
