With a British grandmother who loved her soaps, I am no stranger to BBC comedies. Her favourite would have had to be have been Coronation Street, but I also know she watched Neighbours. This was many years ago, but these types of shows are still going strong with a Canadian audience. Amazon has a huge selection and you are sure to find something you love or will love!
Probably the most well-known of the bunch is Are You Being Served? and Amazon has the complete collection on DVD, regularly $124.98, now on sale for $57.79. This sells at Walmart for $94.21, so this is a substantial savings over their price. It has 58 reviews on Amazon with 56 of them giving it four stars or more. That says a lot, I think!
While I haven't heard of too many of the shows on the list, I am always up for a new show, especially one that is all about sex. Tell the truth, you are too! Coupling sort of sounds like Friends and Sex and the City combined in England. One reviewer even went on to say it is "deliciously, wickedly funny". You can get seasons 1-4 of this show regularly $117.40 now for $70.99. Walmart also sells this for almost $10 more.
Another one to think about is Absolutely Fabulous: The Complete Series. You'll get five seasons of this BBC comedy and even a faux iguana bag. How fabulous is that? This set regularly sells for $182.56 and is on sale for $79.99. Walmart also carries this set, but it is out of stock and priced at $137.97. Amazon's price blows Walmart out of the water.
