Amazon.ca: Save up to 35% on Select Packs of Duracell

Amazon Canada has the power! Nobody is going to break Amazon's Heart of Hearts! If you get this reference, post it in the comments! SNAP!

They have two packs for sale. One is 12 AA batteries and the other is 8 AAA batteries. They were both originally $13.99 but you can get the AAs for $9.13 and the AAAs for $9.99. They are standard coppertop batteries. They do not qualify for free shipping since they are not over $25 but it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a few packs at this price.

Oh man, I haven't done this in a while! It's time for professor Shawn! Woo!

For today's lesson we are going to talk about the difference between a battery and a cell. What we call a battery, these Duracells, for example, are actually cells. A battery is a device which produces electricity via an electrochemical reaction. The caveat is that a battery is made up of two or more cells that have been electrically joined. Your Duracell "battery" isn't actually a battery until you connect two of them together in some form.

Just so you know that I'm not just messing with you so you'll look like an idiot in front of all the cool electrical engineers at work, I submit myself to the scrutiny of Jess, Bargainmoose's illustrious editor. She graduated from the Electrical Engineering Technology course at the same time I did and got much better grades than I did so if I'm wrong I fully expect her to write a paragraph under this one telling you all why I'm dumb. Jess is keepin' em honest!

(Expires: Unknown, says Deal of The Week so probably some time between Friday and Sunday)

Editor's Note: It's been awhile since college, and I'm in art school now, so Shawn's probably legit. Google it or something. ;)
