This is a great little toaster for back to campus shopping. Every dorm room or campus housing needs to have a toaster for all the peanut butter and toast you will consume during the semester. However, you do not want to spend a fortune on secondary appliances that may be commonly used or only used for a few years. Therefore you pick up an inexpensive toaster and your investment is minimal.
I could not price compare this exact unit but I did take a look at some of the cheapest toasters around. Walmart Canada' current cheapest toaster (in stock) is on sale from $17.88 down to $13.88. The cheapest toaster on Amazon Canada is also on sale for $13.88. While Canadian Tire does not ship to your home, I still checked their prices out. Currently, their cheapest toaster is $14.99.
Given that you are paying nearly 40% more for any other sale toaster out there right now... I figure that this is a pretty hot deal.
This little toaster can toast bread and slimmer bagels. It handles two slices at a time and has an adjustable browning control with seven levels of browning. I think the last one should be considered 'burnt' instead of 'brown'. There is a cancel button for stopping your toast when it becomes just right. As per usual, the crumb tray will catch all those little crispy crumbs.
While i think this is perfect for back to school, it also makes an affordable replacement if your current toaster has gone the way of the storage room waiting to be fixed. Toasters are pretty basic units. It doesn't really matter if you pay $10 or $30: they all still perform the same essential function - they brown your bread.
