Lonely Planet Guides: 50% Discount!
Over the next day, the Lonely Planet online store is holding a secret sale, in which they are offering a 50% discount on the price of their print books or digital guides. Here are the details for this deal:
- Coupon Code: SECRETSALE
- Discount: 50% off
- Expires: 19th July 2012
I tested the coupon code out on the print book of the Dublin encounter guide as I will be there next month. The book is priced at $12.99, and the coupon code brought it down to only $6.49. Shipping would be extra of course, if you're ordering the print books.
I think that the new digital editions are a great idea too - you can download individual chapters if you only want a small part of the book. Usually, the books are laid out in order, with a chapter on entertainment, dining out, culture, attractions, etc, so you can choose the bits you want to read. Plus, you get to download the chapter instantly, and you don't need to pay extra for shipping. You can then store it on your phone or tablet, and use it when you are out and about.
I love Lonely Planet guide books, I think they're an excellent resource. I've used them for many large cities and countries on my worldly travels... Rome, London, Reykavik... and more. They give you some great tips on how to get around the city, things to look out for, what not to do. For example, in Rome, don't get in a cab without first agreeing a price with the driver! It's little tips like these that can help make a good trip into a great trip.
