Can eggplant parm put you into labour?

I remember being 39 weeks pregnant and desperate to go into labour. I was tired, heavy and eager to see my baby.

I tried going for walks, eating pineapple and scrubbing the floor. Nothing worked and I ended up being induced a week after my due date.

But legend has it that women go into labour within hours of eating one particular dish at a restaurant near Atlanta, Georgia.

For the last 25 years, pregnant women have been flocking to Scalini’s Italian Restaurant for a serving of their eggplant parmesan. The dish is said to have helped 1,000 women go into labour over the years, including 300 within any given 48 hours.

Made of breaded eggplant smothered in cheese and tomato sauce, eggplant parm is said to induce labour. The recipe is on the restaurant’s site (http://www.scalinis.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/eggplant-recipe.pdf), along with a link to all their “eggplant babies (http://www.scalinis.com/eggplant-babies/).”

Are there any foods that helped induce your labour? Is eggplant parmesan one of them?

My mom had me drinking raspberry tea with my first child but I don't think these are anything but old wives tales, for the most part.

But eggplant parm does sound delicious...
